Virgin Head of Brand, Lisa Thomas discusses what it takes to be a disruptor and the importance they hold within their respective industries. Increasingly technology is disrupting how we interact with our colleagues and the world around us. Companies like Uber and Air bnb have disrupted the norm within their marketplace and more recently, Virgin Management introduced the concept of the ‘Digital Detox’ – a two hour email shut down every Wednesday. It’s clear companies are putting an increasing emphasis on doing things differently, with many businesses placing disruption at the heart of their decisions.
Lisa says ‘Disruption’ is not just a buzzword, but a way of life that is very much engrained in modern society; dictating the way in which we interact with our colleagues and the world around us. Talking about the purpose of Virgin Disruptors Lisa goes on to state that their mission is to create a global network of like-minded people who are trying to create change, to create conversation and energy around controversial and important topics.
